Hi, I'm Lokesh Sharma. Real name, real website, and no big strategy behind either. This is just a place of my own to think out loud, mostly about work and life, and to keep those thoughts somewhere that lasts.

If you Google me, you'll meet about 4.7 million other Lokesh Sharmas. I won't claim to be the most interesting one. I'm just the one who built a website instead of updating his LinkedIn headline for the fourth time this year.

Coffee is not optional. It is infrastructure.

So, what do I actually do? For 15 years, HR. Which means I've delivered hard news with a straight face more times than I'd care to count, and somewhere along the way decided that makes it a calling.

I've worked most corners of the profession: talent acquisition, compensation, global compliance, workforce planning, employee relations, benefits, HR systems, and restructuring (the industry's polite word for a difficult conversation followed by a great deal of paperwork).

I've built hiring processes from zero. Written contracts for people in countries where I was Googling the labour law at midnight. Fixed payroll errors that had been quietly wrong for months. Replaced "systems" that turned out to be a single shared spreadsheet named FINAL_v3_USE THIS ONE. Most of it across time zones and org charts, which taught me two things: no two problems look alike, and "quick question" is never a quick question.

Good ideas are worth nothing without good execution. Show up and do the work.

People like to call HR a support function. After 15 years at the table where the real calls get made (hiring, pay, compliance, and the hard ones nobody volunteers for), I'd rather let the work say it. And if it doesn't, I'll document it until it does.

This site isn't a personal brand or a highlight reel. It's where I think out loud about work, people, and the business of doing both well: the ideas I actually care about, put somewhere they'll last.

Anyone who says "we'll figure it out as we go" has either never failed spectacularly, or has learned a whole lot from doing exactly that.
